Note: Make sure you back up your existing PBX configuration before making any major changes to our PBX
The FreePBX distribution has a simple script that lets you change the major Asterisk version that you are using. To change the Asterisk version simply SSH into your PBX (as root) and run:
asterisk-version-switch
On FreePBX 6.12.65-* you will see these options:
Pick the Asterisk Version you would like to change to:
- Press 1 and the Enter key for Asterisk 1.8
- Press 2 and the Enter key for Asterisk 11
- Press 3 and the Enter key for Asterisk 12
- Press 4 and the Enter key for Asterisk 13
- Press 9 and the Enter key to exit and not change your Asterisk Version
On FreePBX 10.13.66-* you will see these options:
Pick the Asterisk Version you would like to change to:
- Press 1 and the Enter key for Asterisk 11
- Press 2 and the Enter key for Asterisk 13
- Press 3 and the Enter key for Asterisk 14 (Currently in beta)
- Press 9 and the Enter key to exit and not change your Asterisk Version
Once The change has been completed FreePBX will re-write all configuration files and reload Asterisk.
